The day of Amy’s senior portraits we had to change locations last minute. But it was totally worth it!
Amy and I have been talking through ideas for her senior portraits over the last few months. We had a couple dates planned but because of whether and unforeseen circumstances we kept having to delay the shoot. We finally had a date set. Amy told me she just wanted fun, bright, and cheery photos at locations around where she grew up. We were going to start at our church (yep, we go to church together!) and then try to head over to the lake by her house. Unfortunately, a last minute event was taking place at our church so Amy and I decided to change locations.
Our next idea? Amelie’s!
For those of you from the York County/Charlotte area, chances are you know Amelie’s well and love it as much as we do! Amelie’s is French Bakery known for their artsy atmosphere and amazing sweets! The more I think about it, it was the perfect spot for Amy’s senior portraits! Before we headed to the cafe, we did grab a few shots behind out church on some land the church owns. By the time we got to Amelie’s is was the perfect time for a coffee and of course, macaroons! Being that we used them for the photoshoot (and that we both couldn’t decide on which ones to try) Amy and I ordered just about one of every color. We took over a corner of the cafe and had fun being silly, munching on macaroons, and maybe spilling some coffee…Yep, we were those people! Afterwards we headed over to Glencairn Gardens to get a few more shots in the beautiful outdoors. We did manage to get a few photos at our church afterwards. I just love the variety of photos we ended up with!
Amy is graduating in just a few shorts weeks and headed to Converse College where she will continue to study theater. For those of you who know Amy, you know she is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. She is so imaginative and loves the arts! While at Clover High School Amy stayed busy playing lacrosse, competing on the swim team, and performing with the Choraliers. I love that she knows who she is and doesn’t try to conform to what society might say is “right.” Amy is her own unique person and others are drawn to her fun loving spirit. I cannot wait to see how God uses her for His glory. She has a beautiful journey ahead of her!
